- Uses natural ingredients like tree bark, flowers, etc for tanning process. It took weeks to tan the leather.
- Sustainable, environmentally friendly,
- Usually dark, earthy colours, durable strong, leather develops unique patina over time, high cost process,
- Mostly used in premium handmade products.
2 - CHROME TANNED LEATHER.
- > 90% of the world's leather.
- Uses chemicals like acids, chromium sulfate, etc., for the tanning process. It takes 2-3 days to tan the leather.
- Pollutes water systems and environment.
- Wears poorly, and can break easily, gives artificial appearance, made using cheap process and cheap material.
